Four more rural villages in North Yorkshire can now connect to fast and reliable full fibre broadband.

A gigabit capable full fibre broadband connection is available for homes and business across the four villages of Babthorpe and Hemingbrough, near Selby and Killinghall and Ripley, situated close to Harrogate.

The communities have a combined total of almost 2,000 premises all of which can now access a full fibre broadband connection directly into their property.

Among the connected communities are more than 120 addresses that form part of phase 4 of the Superfast North Yorkshire programme, a partnership between North Yorkshire Council and the authority’s technology company NYnet, along with Openreach, to dramatically improve internet connections.

Julian Chalk, Head of Enablement and Engagement, said: “Here are a further four communities in North Yorkshire that can now benefit from a robust internet connection that enables them to live a digital life they deserve.

“We are committed to connecting rural communities across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire that have been left behind by other providers.

“Our full fibre broadband brings huge benefits to people who have endured slow and inconsistent broadband for too long and we’re delighted to continue our network roll-out.”
