Connected’s fast and reliable broadband is now available for people living in even more communities across rural Yorkshire.

We have completed building our network in Hebden, Barden, Burnsall and Hetton in North Yorkshire, rolling out a gigabit capable full fibre network to more than 800 properties.

Homes and businesses in these communities, located close to the popular tourist village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales, can now order Connected broadband and enjoy the digital life they deserve with a fast and reliable connection.

Julian Chalk, Head of Enablement and Engagement, said: “Our full fibre broadband is a game changer for communities that have endured slow and inconsistent broadband for too long.

“Nobody should have to struggle with poor connectivity and we are passionate about helping customers, wherever they happen to live, to live their best digital lives.”

Among the premises included in the latest roll-out include addresses that form phase four of the Superfast North Yorkshire programme, a partnership between North Yorkshire Council and the authority’s technology company, NYnet, as well as Openreach, to dramatically improve internet connections.

The fourth phase, which is being funded with more than £12 million from North Yorkshire Council, is underway to connect properties in some of the most technologically isolated areas of the county.

North Yorkshire Council’s Executive Member for Open to Business, Councillor Derek Bastiman, whose responsibilities include broadband, said: “Communities across the whole of North Yorkshire are benefiting from the work that is underway to improve broadband connections.

“We remain firmly committed to ensuring that wherever people live or work in the county, they have the internet connectivity that they need.

“The rollout of the programme to Hebden, Barden, Burnsall and Hetton is the latest clear example of that commitment, connecting homes and businesses with broadband that is vital for life in the 21st century.”
